18444: Sylvain: RE: 18441: Pierre Louis: Armed rebellion has nothing to do with political rebellion. (fwd)

Sorry Bébé, but politics is economics and vise-versa. True, Narco is crucial
factor in the struggle; however, because of the political and the economic
chaos in the country drug trafficers became yet another source of power.
Because Narco traffic has pervaded the Haitian society, menbers of the elite,
the government and the police have benefitted from it. Between 1992 and 1998
there has been a bit over 100 new millionaires alone in Haiti who are involve
in the drug trafficing. Of course, the money earned has filtered through
various sectors of society. So, Narco violence, political violence, economic
violence is violence nevertheless. Such violence is aimed at the state.
