Read Why Haiti is where it is today
Folks the 1987’s constitution was voted against a
Haitian National. It was close to home. But, when I
read the latest discussion specifically # 18406 and
18418 about another Haitian National, you bring back
bad memories. At that time, Haiti has needed an
open-minded politician, basically someone who knows
what he/she is doing, and this dude could have helped
his country tremendously. You allow everyone to get
back his/her nationality and for some unknown but
malicious reason you include Article 13, alinea b that
was not part of the grace period. And today, you are
paying the consequence of your inconsequence. A
country is not a church where most members are
obedient to the Pastor: Yes Sir, Yes Mom. We all see
things differently; therefore, we must discuss them.
Today, the baby of this family is a proud
Haitian-American and I carry that badge with the
ultimate honor and respect.
You are begging foreigners to help you out and
excluded at the same time qualified Haitian citizen
who can fix that mess. Even in that Bachelor in
Sciences mess, you have the audacity to question the
nationality of someone who is helping you out. This is
pitiful and this is again bachelor in Sciences.
Toussaint Louverture sacrificed his life for you: you
betrayed him
Jean Jacqques Dessalines gave you liberty: you killed
him
Charlemagne Peralte fought to defend the sovereignty
of the Country: you betrayed him
Read the “Gouverneurs de la Rosée” of Jacques Roumain,
Manuel after bringing water source of life: you killed
him
Anyone who does something good for you is expected to
have the same fate. Oops!, c’est pas gentil mon ami,
they put you in their house to assist you but instead
you become jealous of their children. This dude is
helping you out but you become jealous of his
position. Gadon istwa pou mwen.
Many in the Diaspora sacrificed their life to assist
you, to help you out, but you are going to bring
Articles 13, 14 and 15 of the constitution to keep
them at Bay. There is a flamboyant Haitian Senator in
Florida; this successful Haitian lawyer can never
aspire to get elected in his own country. And Haiti at
this present moment needs someone like Him, Oops! He
is not qualified since he occupied a political post.
Anyone who lives in any country for over five years
and expects to live there for years to come shall
naturalize and shall do his/her civic duties and
voting is one of them.
Again Read Articles 13, 14 and 15 of the Haitian
constitution
What is the position of Haitian Opposition and the
Haitian people on Articles 13, 14 and 15 of the
Constitution?
Article 13
Haitian nationality is lost by:
a) Naturalization in a foreign country;
b) Holding a political post in the service of a
foreign country;
c) Continuous residence abroad of a naturalized
Haitian without duly granted authorization by a
competent official. Anyone who loses his nationality
in this manner may not reacquire it.
ARTICLE 14:
A naturalized Haitian may recover his Haitian
nationality by meeting all of the conditions and
formalities imposed on aliens by the law.
ARTICLE 15:
Dual Haitian and foreign nationality is in no case
permitted.
