18694: Mamahaiti1: Ex Military Leaders and the Death Squad

I am more than a little nervous as I continue to read of the events
happening
in Haiti.  Of major concern is hearing that many ex-military leades and
members
of the Death Squad are a part of what is going on and yet the US does not
feel
obliged to offer a "hand".  I can't imagine that "getting Guantanamo Bay
ready"
is helping Haiti.  When I heard Colin Powell speak of this, I felt sick to
my
stomach.

I travel to Haiti every year and a lot of the violence is ocurring in
Gonaives
that we must past through to get to Ennery.  We heard from friends about
two
weeks ago.  Since then, we have not been able to get in touch with anyone
we
know.  With all the violence going on, how can Colin Powell and the rest
of
"Selected" President Buch think its okay to ignore the cries of the
Haitian
People.  Could it be that this was all a very carefully laid out plot.  I
think
so.....I am sending a letter to Rep. John Conyers from my area and hope
others
will send letters to their congressman for the US to step in and really
help
the people of Haiti.
