    I am appalled by the degree of  ignorance and lack of experience, not to
mention independence, expressed by certain black U.S. leaders and
spokespersons, as if they actually knew what Haiti was like on a day to day
basis, solely because of  matching skin tone. What do I know about the
Bosnians?  As much as the Robinsons know about the Haitians.  Mr. Robinson
obviously does not have to live under the influence of Mr. Aristide, and
Mrs. Robinson is a well-paid (by the govt. of the "poorest country etc.")
lobbyist for Aristide.
        The schizophrenia of labeling the U.S. attempts to assign
consequences for widely acknowledged forced elections "economic terrorism"
while asking for more money and troops to put down OPPOSITION thugs is
mind-boggling.
    In an earlier post, I referred to the great condition of the govt
building "Routes et Ponts d'Haiti" as a direct contrast to the condition of
said routes and ponts.  Nancy Laleau described accurately the "bonerattling"
experience of  a trip of mere miles.  Yet, the building is full of
"employed" govt. workers.  Minor compared to riots?  Oh, no, my friend, it
is on these same schizopheric govt. overseen routes and ponts that food,
medicine, people are impaired from safe travel and go nonetheless, because
there is no choice.  Crisis in Haiti now?  There has been one since May
2000, only no journalists would/could cover it until recently, save some
small articles on Gonaives jail breakout in July 2002.  No news on Haiti in
the press 2000, 01, 02, 03 worth mentioning, while the people smouldered and
the govt. used then discarded criminal thugs.  I forget the name of the
poster, but I agree with the (Haitian, I think) man who said "I don't care
who starts the revolution, I'm for it.  Things cannot continue to stagnate
as they have for 200 years."  Please, when you don't know what you're
talking about, or are being paid to talk, stay off of a credible list like
Corbett's please.  kathleen burke
