 Declaration of the Haitian Democratic Platform regarding Mr. Al Sharpton's visit to Haiti,

Port-au-Prince Haiti:  The Haitian Democratic Platform is aware that Mr. Al Sharpton, a U. S. citizen, has been invited by the Haitian General Counsel, Mr. Harry Fouche, to meet with Mr. Aristide and the opposition to discuss the crisis in Haiti.



The Haitian Democratic Platform has no plans to meet with Mr. Al Sharpton.



Mr. Sharpton, in an interview yesterday, has stated that he has reached an agreement with Mr. Fouche to travel to Haiti and that Mr. Aristide was “willing to meet with him,”



The Haitian Democratic Platform reiterates that it has no plans to meet with Mr. Sharpton during his stay.
