How many Haitians made it to Cuba in the past 20 years? How many Cubans
made
it to Miami? How many of each stayed? For each Cuban who wants to "get
ahead"
by going to Miami, maybe let a Haitian who just wants to survive, go to
Cuba
where he/she could work? How many appreciative Haitians could survive
working
Cuba's farmland to make the living that Haiti's soil no longer permits? It
would burden Cuba's already stressed economy--but Haitians know how to
survive
with little. They wouldn't expect luxury accommodations or fantastic food.
They
are used to next to no medicines or education. They could get education in
Cuba, some medical care, and build their own housing as they do in Haiti.
