From: Jepiem@aol.com

"Tete chauve", in creole Tet chov, is an old creole expression to mean a wise
and knowledgeable man. It is used with a sense of respect and awe about
someone (a man) who seems to know a lot and is expected to give good and sensible
advice. This does not mean shaved head but rather "bald head". As you grow
older, you begin to loose your front hair and you become a Tete chov. Sorry you
can't cheat. The baldness has to be natural and confered by age. Womenfolk not
admitted to the confrerie.
