What no one is talking about is that the dollar has
fallen dramatically here in the last two weeks. From a
high of 42 gourdes two weeks ago to today's low of
22.5 gourdes per dollar. That's one hell of a
devaluation. Prices have not fallen for basic goods or
gasoline translating into diminished buying power and
increased suffering for the majority of the
population. It means outrageous profits for the
business class at today's rate of exchange. What a pay off.
