I've not researched it with the banks, but in talking with some who
exchanged money yesterday one person bought gourdes in the morning at
40 gourdes per dollar and in the afternoon it was 25 to 1.  It seems
like the drop happened over the course of a day.  Seems to me like
something dramatic must have happened.

I've heard several reasonable theories for the drop, but nothing that
would cause it to drop so rapidly.
