I say that because while in Haiti for 10 daye I spoke to 25 groups
representing unions, human rights groups, factory workers, peasant workers
groups, women's advocacy groups, victims groups, Aristide government
officials, and individuals representing the Group of 184 and the so called
civil society, OAS, USAID, and US Embassy personnel, and all but three of
these groups were not happy to see Aristide removed in the fashion that he
was, no matter what side of the political spectrum they fell on. They would
have preferred him to leave through a constitutionally appropriate manner.
