21355: Esser: Re: 21334: Morrell: Haiti Democracy Project and Group of 184 (fwd)
From: D. Esser torx@joimail.com
Mr. Morell is of the opinion that I wrote, that he, respective his
"Democracy" Project founded the Group of 184. It would be nice if he
could point us to the article were I wrote that, but he won't,
because I never did write such a thing. I criticized the Haiti
Democracy Project and Mr. Morell on their statements and I guess it
was impossible to refute my criticism otherwise: why attribute
statements to me I never made? And why not give my post number, it
was: <21313: Esser: James Morell on Haiti and semantics (fwd)> that
was posted yesterday, read for yourself and compare my statements to
that of the friend of the Group of 184, which I am admittedly not. As
to my "utter lack of factual basis (a persisting problem with D.
Esser)" in the words of Mr. Morell: if there is really an utter lack
of facts, I could be easily critisized, even without the
fabrications, since this doesn't take place, why get upset about my
postings? Either they are incorrect and we all can learn from being
shown as to why, or they are not. I love to be proven wrong and never
try to avoid an argument...
By the way the Group of 184 did not transform a foreign country, if
indeed they should be given credit for that. It was their own
country, Haiti, they got politically involved in. Ah, the tricky
terrain of semantics...
And finally - in my post <20936: Esser: Re: 20889: Morrell: Haiti
Democracy Project (addendum) (fwd)> I quote someone that makes a
connection between Morell's organization and the so called opposition
in Haiti, although the post is mainly about the HPD's ties to Boulos.
Morell wrote:
I am grateful again to D. Esser, who is becoming one of the Haiti
Democracy
Project's prime boosters. In his last post he gave us credit (a
mini-thinktank
in Washington) for setting up the Group of 184, a major movement that
transformed the politics of a foreign country. By chance we were
visiting
the
Group of 184 today and we all had a good laugh over that one.
