21470: Higbie: Re: 21445: Dailey's News (fwd)
From: Janet Higbie <jhigbie@nytimes.com>
Whoa Nellie! as Mambo Racine Sans But would say....
Go ahead -- pick on Pina, thumb your nose at Aristide, torture LaTortue,
belittle Bush, poke fun at the Pope, mock Marassa, lob insults at Du
Tuyau, denigrate Dupuy, mutilate McCalla, crucify Karshan, cast aspersions
on Apaid -- but running down Corbettland is going too far.
Whoever said it was "a disinterested community of, etc. etc?" Sure,
there's the occasional flak or maniac, but this list, thanks to Bob, our
venerated Webmaster-for-Life, is as wild, whacky, frustrating, divided,
insane, tendentious, pretentious and wonderful as Haiti itself. It is what
it is.
You never know what you're going to read next. A case in point: in the
middle of the recent tumult over genocide, Bebe Pierre Louis posted a story
about a snake in a tree, which was the most interesting part of the whole
discussion as far as I was concerned.
So if it's getting on your nerves, just take a break from your e-mail for a
few days, or give your delete key a workout. You'll be back, I'll predict.
