The students of the university Peace will  continue
their education  in Cuba, says the Cuban ambassador to
Haiti.

Port au Prince,  May 12 2004 - (AHP)- The Cuban
ambassador to Haiti Rolando Gomez, said on Wednesday
that the 247 students at the Peace University created
by the Foundation Aristide for Democracy will be able
to continue their studies in Cuba starting next
August.

This announcement was made within the framework of an
accord  between the Haitian provisional government and
Cuba to facilitate the cooperation between the two
countries.

The students of the Peace University have not been
able to attend classes since March after the interim
government of Gerard Latortue  authorized US troops to
use the school as one of their headquarters.

According to Rolando Gomez, the cooperation between
Haïti and Cuba will continue in the fields of health,
education and technique assistance in spite of the
change of government in the country.

The Cuban diplomat said that his government will
continue to cooperate with Haïti in the interests of
the Haitian people.
