With all due respect, this is just silly.  If a member of the U.S. Congress
wanted to get paid, they wouldn't be looking to exploit the Aristide
Foundation for Democracy.  Aristide's foundation isn't exactly the most
lucrative avenue available to a member of Congress.. not by a long shot.
Right-wing columnist Robert Novak has promulgated this theory.  Maxine
Waters and the rest of the CBC support Aristide because they respect the
vote of Haiti's poor.  Sure, whatever personal and/or financial ties they
have to Aristide are going to reinforce their opinions, but to act like the
only reason they support Aristide is because of seedy financial ties to his
foundation is just way out there.
