This argument is patently bogus, since board members of not for
profit organizations do not receive salaries. Upon taking the trouble
to actually read what Maxine Waters et al have to say about the coup
d'etat, it becomes clear that there is no such thing as blind support
for Aristide, she is quite able to make a case as to why deposing
elected governments trough convicted criminals is not a sane solution
to political differences. Maxine Waters and the other members of the
Congressional Black Caucus have much less a financial stake in what
is going on in Haiti than the backers of the Tortue. Why not research
instead what Mr. Madsen (just to name one), of the Prestige brewery
has to gain from his support of La Tortue and his criminal allies? If
you have ever worked in an non profit organization, you might know
that the finances and compensations of executives pale in comparison
to those of the business world. Yes, there is a lot of money at stake
in Haitian politics, ergo the bankrolling and support of two
consecutive coups by the same business class with the backing of
Bush, père et fils. And here we agree: it is all about the money,
only such a revisionist way of looking at politics won't find it's
trail...
