The below is from the Washington Post. Note spelling of first word. Anybody
know what spelling  the NYTimes uses?

"Vodou priestess Faucia Dumorney, from Gressier, Haiti, holds a ceremonial
candle before a group of musicians in a ceremony honoring the vodou spirits in
a  tent on the National Mall. In addition to Haitian culture, this year the
Smithsonian Folklife Festival is showcasing mid-Atlantic maritime traditions
and  Latino music. "
