All of those former rulers eventually left and kept their mouths shut
afterwards. That is the fundamental difference. Jean Claude didn't
even put up any struggle. Everyone in haiti says that there was
hardly any dezod before he was spirited away on a usa plane.

I  do recall that the lavalas talked about taking Jean Claude to
court for repatriation of ill gotten gains. Nothing came of it. Folks
who think they are in the know in Haiti (which is almost everyone)
say that the legal team just never did anything. Probably they got
distracted with more exciting and imaginative legal concepts like
suing to overturn 180 year old international treaties.

Aristide could be living in peace and enjoying his money if he had
kept his mouth shut after his rescue/kidnapping.
