If anyone still wonders why it is essential to grant legitimacy to Haitian
Creole and to appreciate its status not as a "bastardized French" with
random,
idiosyncratic spelling of its words, but as the first and "official"
(official
along with French) language of some 8 million folks, these articles
illustrate.  It is good to konw that the government of Del Ray Beach was
shown
the egregious error they made in disregarding Haitian Creole.  That was
what
all the fuss about correct orthography on this list was really about:
giving
voice to all Haitians across all social contexts.
