hello!  i am looking for any information on gran
brijit (or any related name for her).

i am particularly interested in tracing her genealogy.
 there is the european source, which is usually given
as st. brigit of ireland.  i have assumed that was the
source of her name, and have seen that suggested in
various places, but i would like some older source
material to back that up.  i am also curious to know
if it is only the name or if there was something else
about that saint that is an element of this lwa.  why
her of all the possible saints, particularly as she is
not a french or even a spanish saint, but one
venerated by scots and irish.

i would also like to know if she is a specifically
haitian spirit or if she originated as an african one,
and which one.

anything else about her current or past nature and so
on are also of interest.

any ideas?  opinions?  source materials to point me
to?  any old thing.
