23434: Haiti Info: FW: Press Conference in Miami-Illegal Arrest of Father Gerard Jean-Juste (fwd)
From: Haiti Info <hainfo@starband.net>
You have to ask yourself one basic question?
Why is this being held in Miami, in the State of Florida, two weeks before
the US Elections? Hum? I wonder what it will lead to? Street theater by
Marguerite Laurent entitled: "Burning Tires in Little Haiti"? Will
Aristide's henchmen and henchwomen be miming the beheading of Miami
Policemen to simulate the real beheadings of real policemen in Haiti?
Operation Baghdad in Miami? A Suivre...
It seems high time the press investigates Father Gerard Jean-Juste to unmask
him for the criminal he is. When he came back to Haiti he was loaded with
money. Where did he get his money?

What: The Illegal Arrest of Father Gerard Jean-Juste

Where: Veye Yo
28 NE 54th Street

Supporters of the Detained Priest
Father Gerard Jean-Juste, a world renowned priest, who spent 26 years in ex
ile during the Duvalier era, most of it advocating for the rights of Haitian
refugees in the U.S., was arrested yesterday inside of his church in Haiti
while
feeding the poor children of Ste. Claire. His arrest by the selected and
illegal government of Haiti has fueled the anger of his supporters in the
U.S. who
denounce the systematic repression and attacks perpetrated against the poor
of urban and rural areas in Haiti, mainly Lavalas supporters. Since
President
Aristide’s removal from power in February, many of his supporters have been
jailed or forced into hiding. “We are calling on the leaders of the world
to
bear witness of the injustices that are going on in Haiti now” said Lavarice
Gaudin, a long-term grassroots activist. “We are calling on the de facto
government of Haiti to free Father Gerard Jean-Juste, now!”
For information, please call: Marleine Bastien (305) 756-8050, Lavarice
Gaudin (786) 290-1750, Farah Juste (305) 305-7571, Lucie Tondreau (786)
663-9889.
