Here in the Bahamas, haitian and haitian bahamian
children lead the nation in school performance, exit
examinations and pursuit of higher education.These
achievements occur in spite of significant cultural
and economic challenges.

Apparently, this  experience is in contrast to the
American experience with education in the Haitian
diaspora. Perhaps, the problem lies not with the
Haitian schools but with the American system and
culture.

Here,the ability to attend school is still considered
a significant priviledge by the Haitian community.

I would be curious to know if this is really any
different in the USA?
