I agree wholeheartedly with Lyall, and have thought the same for some time.
    1. A benevolent monarch in robes would do away with the myth, because
that is what it has been, a myth, of democracy in Haiti. Everyone seems to
forget that the notorious dictator Papa Doc was democratically elected. In
Haiti (and other places) "democracy" has been a "get out of jail free" card
for dictators all over the world. Hey - even if the president were elected
democratically, shouldn't the question be: did he rule democratically? Look
at the people - is there a middle class, a welfare system, free schooling?
If not, it's not a democracy. Never mind "it takes time" - Time and money
spent protecting the leader in luxury is not time spent building democracy.
A monarch would satisfy the desire of people for pomp and circumstance
and great outfits. And music. Let's look for descendants!!! k
