24277: Chavraux (discuss) CARLI and University of Miami report (fwd)

From: Serge Chavraux <sergechavraux@hotmail.com>

I am wondering if anyone else heard the rather stunning interview with
CARLI's Renan Hédouville on Radio Metropole on Friday, where Mr. Hédouville
denied the accuracy of the conclusions attributed - erroneously he says - to
CARLI in the recent University of Miami report on human rights in Haiti and
said that the report "Does not reflect Haiti's reality at all." As the other
inconsistencies of their report - since they have been exposed - have been
greeted with a pronounced silence on the part of its authors and funders, I
can only imagine Mr. Hédouville's comments will also only pass without
response. Perhaps there could not really be one other than to finally admit
that the whole exercise was one of lobbying and public relations more than
one of neutral human rights assessment.
