CONGRESSMAN MEEK MAKING TRIP TO HAITI

U.S. Rep. Kendrick B. Meek will travel to Haiti Saturday to examine the 
country's security conditions and visit U.S. construction projects in the 
northern region.

The Miami congressman, who represents one of the largest Haitian-American 
constituencies in the country, will meet with U.S. Ambassador James Foley 
and other U.S. officials during his daylong visit. He will be joined on the 
trip by Gen. Bantz J. Craddock, commander of U.S. Southern Command in Miami.

This is Meek's fourth trip since Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide 
fled into exile Feb. 29, 2004.
