25188: SFclinics: Problems with attachments to notes: Corbett adds
From: SFclinics1@aol.com
Fellow List Members,
I have been an active list member for several years but lately find I
cannot participate frequently because my communication carries some kind of
attachment which is intercepted and rejected by the list masters. This does
not
happen all the time but is occurring ever more frequently. Bob has told me
that this is a phenomena unique to certain carriers and AOL is one such. I
have
spent a good deal of time, on several different occasions, talking with AOL
technical staff and they continue to assure me that there are no attachments.
The attempts to post on the Corbett list is the only time any attachment is
noted. I have Norton and Spyware installed and they run daily. I am about at
my
wits end here and wonder if anyone else out there has had a similar problem
with the list and if so, how did you resolve it. Thanks

Corbett adds:
Folks, I use a unix system to run the list, not a web-based machine. I
couldn't begin to run the list from a web-based machine, it is too slow.
But, it picks up things the browser-based doesn't and this is especially
problematic with yahoo.com, aol.com and often hotmail.com. Notes from
those accounts often show attachments, which often are most likely the
e-mail address itself which gets attached to the note via an attachment.
But, they all appear the SAME to my machine: notes with attachments --
which I never send out.
