Hm! That's kind of ringing a political bell, and fearing of Preval's popularity
scares to death many politicians in the race and that was the MAIN reason for
forming recently a "coalition (that includes 9 candidates - some represent a
political party and some independent). Haitian Politics always remind us of the
Haitian proverb "Haiti se tè glise" (Haiti is a slippery land) in the sense
that one never really knows what will happen there the next day. A joker was
telling me last month that Father Jn. Juste can be the president.
Though Preval remains to be the most popular candidate, he has been also very
quiet in Haiti (once his term of over and went back to his native Marmelade -
something Aristide should have done also (when his term was over) and reject
any interviews with the Haitian media, however he accepted one recently with
president Leonel Fernandez' TV show, "Agenda Presidencial" where where some of
the key Haitian presidential candidates were interviewed, including Preval
(according to an article published in "Haiti en Marche" recentl where Preval
also touched on the issue of "Violation of Human Rights" - re: the Haitian
Crisis in the Dominican Republic).
Now, the question is: Has Preval made a mistake, trying to become Haiti's
president again? That's the $60,000 question.
