twins and the dead.
4._Maya Deren: Divine Horsemen: the voodoo gods of Haiti. The subject is
touched upon in various sections of the book.
These references are old, therefore refer to customs that may have been
altered with time and the incursion of western "civilization" through
"evangelisation and other culturally destructive influences. Also to be
reminded
that
they describe rites observed mostly by the rural population, (the real
majority). The city folks obviously follow the rites prescribed by the church
as
you
well know.
