Announcing three Afro-Haitian Dance Workshops taught by
internationally-acclaimed Afro-Haitian Dance Master, Musician and Educator,
Diego Jameau.
Come experience the power of love, joy, and beauty invoked by the CONGO,
IBO, and DJUBA dances of Haiti. Learn the traditional dance steps and
rhythms, songs, and stories through these fun and invigorating workshops.
Three Saturdays: 1-5pm
January 28th, February 25th, and March 25th.
Location: Sebastopol Community Center Youth Annex, 425 Morris St.

Haiti and to preserve traditional culture.
DIEGO JAMEAU was born in Port-au-Prince where he learned to dance and sing
from his mother, the lead dance of the National Dance Company of Haiti.
While studying with several major dance instructors, he became a member of
the nationally-prized dance company, Troupe Bacalou, at the age thirteen,
and four years later held a position with Les Danseurs de L'Iles as the
company's lead dancer and choreographer. At twenty-one Jameau left Haiti for
Europe, where he taught classes and produced full-scale performances of
Afro-Haitian music and dance in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, France,
England, Canada, and the U.S. gaining international acclaim as a leading
Afro-Haitian dancer, educator, and musician. He is currently producing his
5th CD with his wife, the acclaimed singer and musician, Maria Jameau.
