TAP TAP HAITIAN RESTAURANT
CELEBRATES
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
with a powerful series of paintings by
95 year old artist and journalist
VICTOR MIRABAL

Mirabal has depicted the tribulations and the suffering
of the black slaves kidnapped from their African homeland
and subjected to unspeakable torture and humiliation.

The series culminates in a painting of the Vodou priest
BOUKMAN sacrificing a pig at the famous ceremony that triggered the
Haitian Revolution.

The slaves drank the blood of the pig and cried:
"ENOUGH ! !  FREEDOM OR DEATH !!!"

RICHARD MIRABAL JEAN-CLAUDE, the son of the
painter and the great Haitian singer MARTHA JEAN-CLAUDE
will be present to introduce and discuss the
MARTHA JEAN-CLAUDE CULTURAL FOUNDATION
and its quarterly magazine on Haitian and Caribbean culture, "BOUYON'.

CDs of MARTHA JEAN-CLAUDE and FILMS of her life and work will be available.
