Jorgen Leth had sex with his housekeeper?s 16 year-old
daughter and wrote about it in a book, as one writes
about a particularly succulent or exotic dish or
drink.  But Leth?s denunciation by the Lavalas set has
little to do with his dirty-old-man depravity, but
rather with what he and his son did or didn?t say
about Aristide.

For one thing, Leth?s crime, bedding a nubile maid, is
so common, and not just in Haiti, it lacks
imagination, it borders on banality.  For another,
Aristide?s ?Lafanmi Selavi? orphanage attracted a
number of pedophiles and sexual predators who later
used their Lavalas connection to magnify their
operations in Haiti.  But our Aristide groupies have
yet to find the courage or the backbone to denounce
those dubious allies.  Only Leth.  Morality anyone?
