<A question from the unenlightened: What is Souvenance? My inquiring mind
wants to know.>
In a nut shell (the experts would have to tell you more...). Souvenance is
a Lakou on the outskirts of Gonaives where they hold ceremonies every year,
around Easter, attended by people from the area, from all over the country and
abroad. The traditions of Souvenance are said to come directly from Benin,
Africa and they differ from traditions you may find in Port-au-Prince or the
South.
