The Creole immersion program is not going to be
located in Coconut Grove. Therefore, it could be great
to hear the POV of the parents and the community in
the affected area. The last time I check, public
school in the U.S. is controlled by local government.

Haitian nationals living in Miami shall be fluency in
both: English and the Creole Lnaguage

I strongly believe that the parents and the Haitian
community can request for the local school in their
respective areas to offer Creole courses at all level,
Haitian Folkloric dance and so on. This should be
included in the curriculum and this should not be up
to discussion. The bottom line, school again is
controlled by local government, parents and the
community. Also, do not forget that the parents have
the final words.  And welcome to Democracy.
NB: Haitian parents should attend PTSA meeting
regularly, talk to the school official and the board
and their community leader. Also, make sure you take
your children with you and let them know that they are
interested in these programs. La Paix.
