Framework: Second Annual Symposium on Haiti:
The Unity Conference

THEME: Bringing Haitians and friends of Haiti
together.
Haiti 2006-2007: A Decisive Year: How can Haitian
Nationals and friends of Haiti interested in the
development of Haiti shift their paradigm from poverty
reduction to the production of wealth? How can the
Haitian Diaspora be mobilized and engaged to support
the motherland? Realizing the vision of our motto:
equality and fraternity, L?Union fait la force.
Identify a common goal that can be the base of
reiterating that historical Union that took place on
May 18, 1803 and Providing keys strategies to unify
the Haitian people under that goal.

AIMS:
1. To provide an opportunity to link Haitian
Nationals, Haitian Organizations and Friends of Haiti
and how this can contribute to the strengthening of
the Haitian Diaspora and its contributions to the well
being of the United States.

2. To provide an opportunity for informed voices from
the Diaspora to become better known within the United
States, informing it of issues important to them
regarding the strengthening of their contribution to
the well being of their respective communities and the
U.S.

3. To provide an opportunity for these informed voices
to reinforce their on-going interest and involvement
in the Haitian Communities in the U.S. and Haiti, and
how this also contributes to the well being of the
U.S.

4. To provide an opportunity to introduce and
strengthen partnership and collaboration between
leaders from within the Haitian Diaspora and others
with similar interests.

5. To showcase Haiti at its highest level thru the
Humanities and to boost the spirit of Haitian
Nationals while celebrating its 203 years of
Existence.

6. The signification of the Haitian Monument in
Savannah and how we can assist and making it a
reality. How this can translate in motivating our
youths in this great country. And also how we can use
it to renew friendship with our American Friends. We
need to work hard to ask the State of Georgia to for a
Official Haitian Day in which Haitians From all over
will come to savannah during the summer time to pay
tribute and to celebrate the courageous effort of our
ancestors.

7. To Structure a Link among Haitian Nationals,
Haitian Organizations and Friends of Haiti.

8. To Unite Haitian people and make them interested in
assisting the motherland. To Review major
accomplishments done during the past 202 years of the
first Black Republic in the Continent.

9. To Reestablish the Friendship between Haiti and the
world, especially Africa and Caribbean Countries. In
Haiti, we see the meeting of three Civilizations:
American, European and African

10. To set the stage to win the new economic war. On
May 18, 1803, our ancestor established a Union among
themselves and six months later; they won the mother
of all battles. Today, we need to unite and work
collaborative with our friends and partners to win the
new economic war and reestablish Haiti in the world of
nations.

11. and Finally to Unify legally the sons and
daughters of Haitian Nationals living in and outside
of Haiti and asking the members of the new parliament
to take a public stand on removing articles 13 and 15
whenever there is an amendment in the constitution.
