Interesting comment:

"Claudette is a good and couragous person and like Lilas Desquiron and a few
others stood for democracy in 2004."

I ask, What did these folks (Claudette, Lilas and those few others) stand
for in 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999....

I remember opposition candidates trying to assemble and make campaign stops
in different towns back in '99-'00. They would get pelted with rocks, Juna
bottles full of urine and feces. Ah yes, the gangs exercising their democratic
rights. The police merely watched. The police and the gangs had the same
patron.

There was no democratic choice in 2004 silly. The three options that I
remember were: 1) Status quo (non democratic) 2) Old army/FRAPH coalition (non
democratic) 3) Group of 184 which wanted to topple Status quo (non democratic).

Then we got to the next phase, Transitional Government (non democratic).

We did have a Democratic election in 2006. Unfortunately for Democracy, if
it doesn't put food on the table, create jobs and provide security, its useless
 to everybody.
