HAITI

PRIME MINISTER SAYS AID SLOW TO ARRIVE

MADRID -- Haiti's prime minister Jacques Edouard Alexis complained Thursday the 
flow of international aid to his country is too slow and cumbersome, hampering 
a drive to boost development and disarm gangsters who stage Robin Hood-style 
raids to curry favor with the poor.

Alexis also said in an interview with The Associated Press in Spain that while 
U.S. aid to Haiti is substantial and appreciated, Washington is contributing to 
Haiti's security woes -- considered a key obstacle to attracting investors and 
tourism -- by deporting Haitian convicts after they serve U.S. jail terms.

MEXICO

MISSING JOURNALIST'S BODY IS LOCATED

VERACRUZ -- Police found the bullet-ridden body of missing journalist Adolfo 
Sánchez Guzmán on Thursday, in what appeared to be the second killing of a 
reporter in 10 days in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz.

Investigative police said they discovered the body between the cities of Ciudad 
Mendoza and Río Blanco, not far from where Sánchez Guzmán's car was found 
abandoned on Tuesday night.

The journalist was in negotiations to renew his contract with his employer, the 
Veracruz affiliate of the Televisa television network, and also reported for a 
radio station and an Internet news site.

Sánchez Guzmán's death came just days after the Nov. 21 slaying of Roberto 
Marcos García, chief reporter for the investigative magazine Testimonio, who 
was toppled from his motorcycle, run over and shot four times at close range by 
unidentified assailants on the outskirts of Veracruz City.
