Mica de Verteuil from Abricots in the Grand'Anse (Jeremie area) is now
one of the 12 finalists and you can vote for her online. So please
visit this website to find all about it and how you can help her and
the poor area of Abricots.

For those of you who don't know her - she is a wonderful woman who has
started about 11 mountain schools in that area as well as starting a
co-operative of women doing wonderful appliquéd table cloths. (Paradis
des Indiens)  She is considered a saint in her area, the only person
who has created jobs. She gets no support, either moral or financial
from the Ministry of National Education.

And despite the fact that her husband died last year she is continuing
on with this wonderful work.

So now is your chance to help Haiti and her. Please visit the website
- the voting will start in October until November. Your votes will
count for her to be amongst the 3 finalists, if not the overall
winner. Get all your friends, Haitian or blancs to do the same and
support her.
