Re paket kongo, that Tequila asks about:  I saw some offered for sale by a 
marchand outside El Rancho hotel.  Her few wares were lying on a small 
blanket in the parking lot on the ground and included a half-dozen paket 
kongo or so... she told us they were "pin cushions"!  My friend knew exactly 
what they were and teased her about it, whereupon she admitted they weren't 
exactly pin cushions... and had other uses.  She did not specify the uses, 
because it was implicit in her discourse with my friend that this was 
vodun-related.
