American Eagle Announces New Service From San Juan to Port-au-Prince,
Haiti

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- American Eagle, the
regional affiliate of American Airlines, will launch new
non-stop service from its San Juan hub to Port-au-Prince, Haiti,
beginning Sept. 8.American Eagle will operate one daily round-trip
flight to Port-au-Prince using its 64-seat Super ATR aircraft. The new
service marks American Eagle's return to the Port-au-Prince-San Juan
route, which it last served in 1996.``Haiti has enjoyed continuous
development in the business sector and in inter-island passenger
traffic,'' said George Hazy,president of American Eagle in Puerto Rico
and the Caribbean. ``With our re-entry into this market from San Juan,
American Eagle will now offer Caribbean residents and customers from the
U.S. mainland yet another gateway to link with Haiti.''American Airlines
offers service to Haiti from two U.S. gateways -- New York/John F.
Kennedy International Airport and Miami International Airport. The new
American Eagle service will also link Haiti to other destinations in the
U.S. served by American Airlines from San Juan.

American Eagle recently announced additional flights for the peak winter
season from San Juan to Anguilla, Tortola, St. Kitts
and St. Maarten. Since obtaining an Extended Overwater Certification
from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA),American Eagle has
launched new service to Port of Spain and Grenada. Port-au-Prince is the
third new destination American Eagle will serve from San Juan this year.
American Eagle operates 76 round-trip flights a day between San Juan and
24 destinations in the Caribbean. Other Caribbean destinations American
Eagle serves from San Juan include Antigua, Tobago, St. Vincent and St.
Lucia.Systemwide, American Eagle operates more than 1,400 daily flights
to 127 cities throughout the United States, Canada, The Bahamas and the
Caribbean with 222 turboprops and jets. Customers can earn a minimum of
500 AADVANTAGE miles on every American Eagle flight.
