There may be a decrease in Haitian tourism in Haiti due to bad press, but 
that would hardly be seen as a reason for the depreciation of  the gourde 
vis-a-vis the dollar.  The transfer of dollar from the Diaspo (dyaspo) to 
Haiti has been the major source of dollars in Haiti (not including other 
payment transfers from the U.S or NGOs).  I have not heard that the cash 
outflow from the Diaspo to Haiti has dwindled.

There may be other reasons. Can you or anyone else think of another reason.
