Well, I DON'T CARE about "making Vodou respectable to non-practitioners" 
(read, white people, mostly).  We are not going to conduct ourselves based on 
the opinion of practitioners of some other religion which has been 
persecuting us for centuries anyhow!  :-)  If we have a "bad reputation", it 
was created BY THEM to OPPRESS US.
