That is not true at all.  US policies have NOT been "well meaning and 
idealistic", they have systematically discouraged economic growth and 
thwarted efforts toward social justice.

This is what gets my goat - first they do all their little dirty deals, then 
they sit back and blame the results on those backward Haitians.  NAH!
