HAITI: Six houses burned, 12 wounded in violence over disputed
elections

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti -- (AP) -- Supporters of a losing candidate for
mayor went on a rampage in a remote provincial town, wounding 12 people
and setting a half dozen houses ablaze, a radio report and witness said
Friday. It was the second eruption of violence in a week over Haiti's
disputed elections. The Organization of American States said in a
statement Friday it will not sendbservers to the second round of
elections Sunday because it disputes the formula used to determine
winners in the first-round voting in May and it ``cannot consider (the
results) either accurate or fair.'' The violence started Thursday in
Anse-d'Hainault, a coastal town of about 29,000 on the tip of Haiti's
southern peninsula, some 135 miles (220 kilometers) west of
Port-au-Prince.
