Dear Caroline,

Yes... You should have your child in Haiti vaccinated, but with the IPV 
ONLY. (Inactivated Polio Vaccine - injection).

The usual schedule for children is 2months, 4months, 15-18months, and 4years 
old.  All of these should be the IPV only.

In an adult, if it has been more than 10 years since completing the 
childhood series, you should receive one more lifetime booster of the IPV if 
you are in or travel to an endemic area.
