Moroccan film wins African FESPACO film festival

OUAGADOUGOU, March 4 (Reuters) - Moroccan director Nabil Ayouch has won the
prize for best film in Africa's FESPACO film festival with "Ali Zaoua," a
film about the lives of street children.

The award was announced by the organisers of the biennial festival late on
Saturday in Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougou.

"Lumumba," a film by Raoul Peck of Haiti about the life and murder of
Congolese independence leader Patrice Lumumba, won the Paul Robeson prize for
the best film by a director of African descent outside the continent.

More than 200 films were shown during the 17th Pan-African Cinema and
Television Film Festival (FESPACO), which opened on February 24.
