7308: BRA's medical mission to the Dominican Republic's bateyes: June 8-17, 2001. (fwd)

The Batey Relief Alliance (BRA) is sponring its 9th annual medical relief
mission in the Dominican Republic's bateyes of Monte Plata from June 8th
through June 17th, 2001.  We seek volunteer health care professionals to
provide free medical services in the areas of general medicines, pediatrics,
dentistry and optometry - and preventive health education.  We also welcome
donations in medical supplies and medicines (high blodd pressure, antibiotic
and diabetic).  Free medicines, vitamins, eye glasses and eye care products,
and health crisis prevention aids will be given to all patients to complete
their short-term treatment.

All volunteers will receive tax-exempt credit for covering their lodging and
travel costs (appx. $1,000). BRA will provide free ground transportation,
discount rates at the Hispaniola hotel in Santo Domingo, and a thank you
party/reception to all participants.
