Haiti Reborn Office Manager

Position: The Quixote Center is seeking an Office Manager for its Haiti
Reborn project. The position coordinates organizing for an annual event
(Haiti Solidarity Week) and organizing the fundraising campaigns of the
project. Haiti Reborn works to build grassroots support in North America
for projects in Haiti, while at the same time raising awareness about
the current social, economic and political situation in Haiti. We work
to build coalitions with other organizations doing Haiti solidarity
work. We raise funds for community-based and grassroots development work
in Haiti, specifically reforestation initiatives and popular education
programs. Position also includes an active role in the Quixote Center
collective on track to becoming a co-director.

Duties:
§ Coordination of prospecting and in-house fundraising mailings
§ Responsible for organizing large donor campaign
§ Coordinate Haiti Solidarity Week, an annual international event
§ Coordination of telephone fundraising
§ Administrative work for the overall program of Haiti Reborn
§ Research and identify potential foundation support
§ Shared responsibility for the overall work of the Quixote Center


Qualifications:
§ Skilled in multi-tasking, juggling tasks
§ Highly motivated self-starter with close attention to detail
§ Administrative skills and PC literacy
§ Phone and grassroots organizing
§ Experience in international solidarity work, knowledge of Haiti a plus

§ Knowledge of Haitian Creole/French a plus
§ Enthusiasm for the overall work of the Quixote Center

Commitment: Two years. Applicant’s potential for long-term commitment to
the Quixote Center will be considered.
Salary/Benefits: $29,000/year plus excellent benefits including four
weeks vacation, employer-paid health insurance, retirement plan,
dependent care allowance.
