Why: A Community Bridge Building Musical Event
Who: Mezzo-soprano Kim Sylvain made her Carnegie Hall
debut at the age of 15 as the first prize winner in the
Friends of Music Competition. She began her formal
musical studies at the Manhattan School of Music and the
National Conservatory of France in Paris. Over the past
decade she has collaborated with Regine Crespin, Christa
Ludwig, Xavier Depraz in France, Giulietta Simionato in
Italy, Enrique Batiz in Mexico, Mercedes and Mercer
Ellington and Itzhak Perlman in the United States.
The daughther of Gabrielle Maurasse Sylvain and Michel
Sylvain of Port-de-Paix, Haïti, Ms. Sylvain is very
proud of the cultural accomplishments of Haitians and
Haitian-Americans. The board of directors, staff and
volunteers of the Haitian American Foundation, Inc. are
equally proud of Kim Sylvain and we are deeply honored
to have her perform in Miami.
