8202: Haiti Support Network (HSN) D.R. Report Back (fwd)

Haiti Support Network (HSN) presents
REPRESSION & SOLIDARITY ALONG THE BORDER
A report-back from the HSN’s fact-finding delegation to the Dominican Republic
Dominican businessmen recruit Haitians to work for pennies a day
in their fields, factories, and construction sites. But to keep
workers down, the Dominican government rounds up Haitians and
dark-skinned Dominicans every day and brutally deports them to
Haiti. Dominican troops kill one Haitian a month on average along
the border. But solidarity between Haitians and Dominicans is
growing as the U.S. military becomes more involved. Could border
tensions become a pretext for another invasion of Haiti? Come
hear what the HSN discovered....
