8219: Repeat Elections (fwd)

Okay, now, let me get this straight.  President Aristide has yeilded to 
international pressure and agreed to repeat elections for seven Senate seats. 
 Seven Senators have resigned (who's representing their constituencies in the 
meantime, by the way?)  And now the Convergence, who have been squalling and 
squealing like tortured cats, don't want repeat elections after all?

I don't know whether to laugh or cry!  Apparently the Convergence only wanted 
the spectre of repeat elections to hold over the head of the Aristide 
administration like a club - they don't really want those repeat elections, 
they just want to claim they want repeat elections.

It's no wonder!  Have a second round of elections.  Have three!  Have four!  
Have five!  The results will be the same, the Lavalas candidates will win, 
because that is the will of the Haitian people.
