To all the friends, sympathisers and members of the Jean Marie Vincent 
Foundation:

28 August 1994 - 28 August 2001 : Seven years on - a petition calling for 
justice for Father Jean Marie Vincent 


Dear Friends,

    It is seven years since our brother, friend and companion, Father Jean 
Marie Vincent, was felled by assassins' bullets as he returned to his home. 
By way of commemoration, the Jean Marie Vincent Foundation has decided to 
launch a campaign aiming to force Haiti's judicial authorities to renew the 
investigation into this assassination.  

    There is a well-known saying that goes: "A country where crimes come to 
be regarded as news in brief is a country where morality no longer exists." 

    Therefore, this struggle to demand justice for Father Jean Marie Vincent 
concerns all of us. 

    The Jean Marie Vincent Foundation is sending this petition to you, and 
requests your support in this battle to try to rectify the situation of 
morality and justice in Haiti. 

    The Foundation counts on your participation in helping to collect 
signatures.  Once filled in, please return the petition to the Foundation 
office in Port-au-Prince. The cutoff date for sending the petitions is 14 
September as we plan to hand them in to the Ministry of Justice on 28 
September. For more information, do not hesitate to contact us.

    In the meantime, we thank you in advance for collaboration and your 
participation in this campaign to demand justice for Jean Marie Vincent. 
Following the example of our mutual friend, we say to you, kenbe la (stand 
firm).
